These rear car cycle 'hangers' are inherently potentially dangerous and there have been numerous incidents of several bikes thought to be very secure by the owners , falling off the back whilst causing mayhem on busy roads and indeed injuries. Some drivers have been , quite correctly , charged with careless driving with an insecure load. I wouldn't have one I can tell you. Bad design and a bad idea.

I heard of a roof one, fitted by a well-known chain of car accessory and cycle retailers, that fell off with two £1000+ bikes on. At least if this lot fell off, the police would know what car it came off.
I never had a car to attach my bike to!
