The Fl ashing R ed 5s econd light in the little bay window to the right, is a navigational aid on the west side of Newhaven Harbour entrance. It seems a bit quirky to put it in a rail mounted cabin - a bit like a retired bathing machine!

These are two views of the same box. I took several shots to ensure that I got one with the light on. The light itself is quite small. I guess it would be more visible in the dark, but it seems a bit tucked away in its bay window. I got the technical details from the Newhaven Port Authority's website, where they list all the navigational aids. It is very exposed for an old wooden 'box', as you can see from the location map.
