Prairie Coneflower/Mexican Hat
Ratibida (Prairie Coneflower/Mexican Hat) is a North American native perennial wildflower in the daisy family, Asteraceae. These plants grow to be about 12 – 15 inches / 30 – 38 cm tall and typically bloom from June through late summer.

o0o I had to smile at the name ... mexican hat ... indeed I guess
it does look like that ;-) ... they remind me also of another flower
with a cone like seed head .... echinacea ... but I might have spelt
that wrongly ... doing it from memory as I type ... ;-) greetings

Good evening Bev, you are absolutely right about Echinacea being very similar to these Prairie Coneflowers. Botanically they are in the same classifications all the way down two levels below the 'Family' level. The Echinacea are typically somewhat larger than the Prairie Cornflower though. they make "tincture" out of them ... you put a few tiny drops in a small amount of water
and take it to help heal naturally ... when you have a cold etc ... ;-) and effective
natural remedy ... !
