Immature Brown Thrasher

Immature Brown Thrasher
Thrashers are a New World group of perching birds related to mockingbirds and catbirds. There are 15 species. This one appears to be an immature Brown Thrasher. Photographed in my garden.

Xata, thanks! These birds are quite territorial, so it seems he was trying to stare me down, he stayed for several minutes :)) Best wishes, Michael

He looks a bit grumpy, Michael; methinks he doesn't like having his photograph taken! :^)
This is another educational piece I've picked up from you, - I didn't know there was such a bird as the Brown Thrasher.
You've caught him just perfectly though! nicely done!
My warmest greetings, ~ D.

Many thanks David! He does seem to be keeping a close eye on me :)) Our birdbath attracts quite a few birds but not a very large variety :(( I am hoping to get a photo of a Cardinal and a Blue-Jay but they come and go so quickly a lot of luck is needed. My best wishes to you for a lovely upcoming week, Michael
