Dogwood Patch - A Garden
A small garden shaded by three Dogwood trees - white - pink - red. Many plants are volunteer and like it so much that it becomes 'home'.
Yet, there are others (like the False Sunflowers - seeds traveled from Oklahoma and waited a year before blooming - had to make sure North Carolina clay was suitable) - Cosmos seeds gifted by the Gentleman who cares for the NotMyGarden, Down The Road .. oh, and…

She wore Yellow !
to brighten our weekend -
getting much needed rain -
the Tiger Lily needed it -
was going to water her, but the skies opened -
Tiger Lil got plenty of water -
now, this yellow flower is -
a False Sunny -
planted seeds 2 yrs ago - ID- False Sunflower (Heliopsis helianthoides)
these are my Pamy False Sunflowers -
why it took 2yrs to sprout -

Sunday ..
pause in the Eastern Bluebird (m) concert -
They perch erect on wires, posts, and low branches in open country, looking for prey.
Bluebirds drop-like-a-rock to the ground onto insects.
In Fall and Winter can usually be found on fruiting trees gobbling the berries.

dose of Dogwoods ...
Dogwood-flowers-to-be -
now, they look like peas in a cup -
gradually they open -
revealing white, pink or red bracts -
very small yellow flowers will be in the center -

From the mountains to the coast, the Dogwood tree can be seen in North Carolina US .. colors from white to pink to red, bloom in early Spring into Summer.
The flower (Cornus florida) was declared the State Flower Of NC in 1941.

this Dogwood tree is beside two very healthy ones -
this one didn't have many bracts/leaves/or red berries -
all have been treated the same -
perhaps, as one neighbor said " they die and we don't know why" -
even the Agriculture agent couldn't suggest anything else to do --
so, as there are signs of future growth amid what looks like it is going side-ways -
we shall wait -
