[en] A sinkhole, also known as a sink, shake hole, swallow hole, swallet, doline or cenote, is a natural depression or hole in the surface topography caused by the removal of soil or bedrock, often both, by water. This is a sinkhole near Nismes, in the south of Wallonia.

Thanks, Anna! Unfortunately on the picture you can't imagine that 30 centimetres in front of her feet there is a huge gap 20 metres deep.

My critic about this photo would be what you say yourself : I can't imagine there is the big gap,if it is what you wanted to show.
Then, if you just wanted to show the landscape, i think the lady shouldn't be on the photo.
And about the landscape, maybe it lacks of contrast and texture....
Hem...sorry, i hope i don't look as if i knew about photo,it's just what i feel and I may be wrong !

Thanks, Eivita. Yes, you're right. One can hardly imagine there is a very deep gap in front of the lady. I now see that I have used a small zoom. Maybe another lens, almost fisheye, would have produced a better result...

I agree with eivita. To show the gap you should have come back at another time of day, maybe the sunlight would draw some shadows to make clear that there's a gap?
