I love the wooden shingles, it is interesting that this is such a poor region, one would hope that tourism is at least giving the people some much needed revenue

Simon. Nothing in South America is not really poor, except for 1% of the inhabitants and then there is a middle class and a huge poor class. Unfortunately.

Oh and just to mention, they are kept this way by the governments and some religions, just to keep them quiet.
People will throw stones at me, because I am saying this, but it is true.

Religion has a lot to answer for sure, I forget sitting here in front of my Imac , drinking tea (what else! ) in relative comfort in England that there is still so many corrupt governments and regimes out there, i really should count my blessings xx

Petra has replied to Simons-Photography
Well corruption is just everywhere. It is inherent to human nature very often, but
in our areas it took unbearable and unacceptable proportions, as
we are ALREady in the 21st century.
You will find similar stories back there...in your history, centuries ago and maybe not even that much.
Our world here is going through this now, in its 500 years of history.
A shame that all has to go bad first, needing to be fixed afterwards, maybe 1.000 to 2.000 years later.
The worsed is that the original cultures that lived here before us were all destroyed in
a most shocking and cruel way.
Sometimes we just remember these things.

Thank you for your participation.
It is most valuable to me - always!
It is also a way to add some life to quiet Ipernity. :)))

It can be quite but maybe thats because I am new here? anyway I have made some great new contacts like yourself so that is good:))

Looking at the picture again I did have to smile to see that the Coca Cola corporation is here though!

Where is it not, Simon?
I remember once in Paris, in a Restaurant, they gave me this "look" because
I asked for a Coke, instead of wine or water. Lol
And I don´t even am a Coca Cola friend.
It was my first time in Paris. I didnt know about these "things" then.
I know now that I did something heretic. hahaha
