I fully agree, a bit more sharpness would have been better, but unfortunately the original image was extremely flat (the historgam looked like a needle), so increasing the contrast leaded to excessive noise. I did not want to emphasize this with sharpening. But your suggestion makes me think about an alternative solution of limiting the sharpening by using a layer mask. I'll give it a try...

I tried, and it looked downright ugly, it was too noisy. No sharpened version, I'm sorry.
