I've got the blues ...

I've got the blues ...
Well, at least now I have an e-mail conversation going with the nice tech guy from Gateway, who told me to download a test program (with a computer that won't start) to a floppy (in a computer that doesn't even have a floppy drive). After telling him how I felt about these suggestions ( don't worry, I was holding back how I *really* felt!), he told me that they would replace the harddrive, but I had to pay $35 shipping and handling for a recovery cd.

Now as you all know, I am a scrooge by profession, and I asked him if it wasn't a better idea to use the recovery cds that I had created about 10 weeks ago, when the computer was brandnew and prompted me to do so. He agreed (HA!) and so I tried my luck with cd number 1. Now my screen glows in a beautiful blue, and the error messages get more interesting with every try. I might just use the monitor as a nightlight.
