Walking distance

Walking distance
Real estate lingo: "Convenience is the word!"

Adjacent to the subdivision was a brand new huge shopping center which had been built 2 years after the houses. Now we could see the back side of the privacy wall we had noticed before: If you walked around the wall there was about 5 feet of grass and then you would stand directly in the Publix parking lot! One more time we noticed that "gated community" doesn't necessarily mean "fenced" or "secure"!

If you look closer at the MLS picture from before, on the right side you can see those giant floodlights on the back loading ramp which has trucks coming in all night to unload groceries. No more sunset view from the lanai - by the time the sun sets, these lights are already on ...

The first and second floor lanais had the privacy wall directly in front of them, the picture was taken on a third floor lanai. But "convenient" it was indeed: Instead of having the groceries taken to your car, you could have them delivered right into the elevator - and with a couple of 2x4`s over the grass the shopping center would even be wheelchair accessible - I am not sure if that`s what they meant with "handicap features".

Needless to say, we didn`t even ask to see the inside of those condos ...

That was the last attempt to look at anything else than what we had already found before. We went back and looked at two more condos in a brand new development on a golf course. We wrote an offer for one, negotiated a bit and then we were waiting for all the paperwork to be done.
