Black Bears

Black Bears
... and the safest way to take photos of them!

Rest assured: I did NOT walk out in the meadow to take the pictures of the bears. As you can see here, they were taken from the relative secure inside of my car, even with the windows rolled up!

About a minute before, Mama Bear had given a very stern warning to one of the photographers who had gotten out of their cars and went really close to the cubs - way TOO close! As you can see, 2 of the cubs then immediately ran towards the far tree, and the other bears slowly followed, being annoyed by those people.

Some excited tourist have a tendency to forget that these are WILD animals - and every once in a while, someone is attacked by a bear, especially by a female protecting her cubs. Not me: I want to be able to take many more pictures of them in the years to come! ;-)
