Redheugh Gas Works 

A scan from an indifferent print taken sometime in the late 1970s/early 1980s. Taken on a boat trip up and down the River Tyne. We went up as far as Ryton Willows and down to the river mouth.

Part of the site of Redheugh Gasworks, after closure but before reclamation. The site became part of the Gateshead Garden Festival and is now housing I think. Not a place I would want to live in considereing the high level of contamination in the soil.
