For reasons best known by the Bees we had very few Brown or Honey Bees until late September. Fortunately there were many alternative pollenators to do their work.

Thankyou John.

Salient point.. Bees alone pollinate 40% of all humans food sources. If we lose the bees.. we are dead.

Thanks for the visit, Pam. The wildflower you asked about is Brodiaea coronaria, Harvest Brodiaea, a wildflower that from the Pacific Northwest. You commented on it before I even had a chance to put a name to the picture.

Heehee, hard at work getting ready for winter Pam!

We have lost millions and millions of honey bees in Canada over the past decade and now we are losing our bumblebees too! I only saw a few this year, compared to other years. I'm not sure, but I think this is a female worker honey bee?

Fabulous details on both photos and so tack sharp too!

Pam J has replied to Kate
Thankyou Kate...

Yes I thnk it is.

This past 2-3 years all Bees have been very sparse... but this past month.. suddenly... MASSES. So.. hang in there.. I think and hope this is a stronger generation hopefully making a comeback.
