Finally the first Black Swallowtail ! Very blurred but here and on Acaia flowers
The first Black Swallowtail of the year... and she is 6-8 weeks late arriving ! Oh I know this is blurred.. but my telephoto is not a good one.... and this butterfly was 20 feet up in my Acacia tree ! and it simply did not stop for more than 2 seconds. I had the camera at arms length above my head in a temp of 104F !!

micritter, JayOh (John Owles), Bob Ottey have particularly liked this photo

Our butterflies are not so plentiful here either and those that are around seem to be at high altitude. Silly really, given the number of swallows about.

JayOh.... its a very strange year... the very noticable lack of birds and butterflies is cause for concern. I cant say that of the lack of Black Widows though ! Last year they were everywhere !
