Octopus

Octopus at the Oregon Coast Aquarium in Newport, Oregon.
With your eyes you could barely see the octopus in a small dark cave.
This was shot using only the light that was naturally present at ISO-800, f/2.8, and 1/15th of a second, and further brightened in photo editor to make the octopus more visible.

This is in the McKenzie Pass area of Oregon. On the hike back to the trailhead after going to the top of Belknap Crater. Behind the lava field you see the summit of Mount Washington.

At many locations along the Oregon coast, I've seen no one else for miles in either direction. Especially in sparsely populated southern Oregon. So by Oregon standards, this constitutes a crowded beach.

Should I go straight towards Mount Hood?
Left to Canada?
Or right to Mexico?
How many hours of daylight remain?
I chose to head towards Mexico.
Bizarrely, after walking about 1/4th of a mile towards Mexico, there was another one of these signs, and despite walking away from Canada, the mileage had dropped to 548.
