Tea and Sculpture

Tea and Sculpture
A man after my own heart, based on the scant evidence available.

I got diotina to ask him a few questions about the process. These sculptures start with wooden armatures, which are then packed with a mixture of mud and straw, then finished off with fine mud-clay (usually from the nearby sacred river Ganga) and often some cloth before finally being painted and then dressed. The whole process takes this guy about two weeks, he said.

I was particularly impressed by his work - this photo isn't really doing it justice, but the detail work is fantastic, as are the curves of the figures.
