Hiking and skiing

I climbed to the top of this mountain on Sunday, with my camera and my skis to enjoy the sun and the beautiful weather. It was hard to go all the way to the top, but it was worth it to enjoy the scenery and get to ski back down. I put two pictures in notes, one of my skis and the mountains and ocean in the background, the other one of my ski tracks on the way down :o)

Wonderful and breath-taking! I am sure - Isafjordur is one of the most beautiful and picturesque places in the world!
And in terms of climbing the mountain - it must have been really very hard. Thank you for this effort - the effect is amazing!

Thank you Viola... and I totally agree with you about Isafjordur :o)
It was hard going to the top, but it was surely worth it :o)

Vá, þetta er frábær mynd. Það hefur verið yndislegt að fara þarna uppá toppinn.
Hvað er þetta sem stendur uppúr snjónum?

Oddur Jonssonpro replies:

Where are the closest trees from this area or the area where you live?
Posted 10 months ago. ( permalink )
Oddur Jonssonpro replies:
The closest trees are down in the valley, but they were planted there :o) We don't have many trees here in Iceland, and almost no natural forests...

Wow, talk about being on top of the world, and what a thrill to be the first to ski in virgin snow!
Posted 10 months ago. ( permalink )
Oddur Jonssonpro replies:
Thanks John. That was what kept me going, the great feeling being on top of the world and to have all the slope for myself :o)

Splendid!! Yes, I wonder what Íris Halldórsdóttir's note means!!?? What is that?!?!? You are a lot fitter than me!!! I can walk anywhere, but skiing? Not me!! :-D

Oddur Jonssonpro replies:
Thanks Nigel. Íris is asking about that snowy pole in the picture. It is a broken plastic pole, like they use for making slalom tracks :o) So if you came here, I would only have to teach you two things, right turn and left turn on skis, after that we could walk up there and take another run down the slope :D

Djö.... ertu duglegur...! Ég er að ímynda mér að ég geti gengið á Hvannadalshnjúkinn í sumar hihi en það verður sko án skíða... Fór með vélina með mér í svolitla fjallaferð um daginn og vá hvað hún var þung í lokin!!! Falleg og tær mynd og cool skíði :o)

Oddur Jonssonpro replies:
Takk Ragga.
