Modernism and Arts and Crafts
St Pancras Fire Station, designed by Charles Canning Winmill, and built for the London County Council, was operational by 1902 when James Joyce would have seen it when he left Euston Station with W.B. Yeats. Yeats met Joyce on 2nd December from the train and took him to dinner and then on to meet the staff of the Academy, the Speaker and Arthur Symons before Joyce left for Paris that same evening
