or River Lee, was formerly the border between Saxon England (on the right) and Viking controlled Danelaw (on the left) and subsequently it formed the border between Middlesex and Essex. On the right can be seen a crane at Oak Wharf which was used for loading and unloading timber. There were many timber wharves along this stretch of the river. In the distance is Canary Wharf.
