Dirty Digitiser

Dirty DigitiserDirty Digitiser
I took an old slide projector I bought on ebay, changed the lamp for a weaker one (100 W for now, the 50W one will arrive soon), put a dispenser in (taken from an Ikea lamp) and put a grey filter in front (as it was still too bright). Then I directly photogaphed the slides with a macro lens, the lens of the projector being removed.

The RAW images then were converted with ufraw in automatic mode or, if this failed, with ufraw/gimp manually. It took about 30min to digitise 40 slides, image treatment afterwards was about 1 hour, I guess.

damn, buy a HP 4010 (about 120 euro) and with a verf high quality selection = 6 color / 600 ppi / 400 %, you transert a picture about 30 sec/each (depending on your PC) and if you jump in the upper class of HP (aroun 100 euro more) it takes a few sec for 6 neg.

I recently bought one of these HP 4something, but unfortuntely I couldn't get it running with Linux. I tried with Windows on my laptop (that is the only running Windows I have got) and the software sucked. I will try it with a better software (vuescan probably) at some time...
