Tracy, MO show

Tracy, MO show
Had a good time at the show - this was the second year after the show was moved down from St. Joseph and the host had the hall FULL - 83 tables and 4 displays. I sold 3 of my meters (didn't bring out the fourth as the guy who I got it from was there so I didn't want to upset him). Also met up with many collectors I usually only see at the Nationals or the Springfield show.

The guy was showing this as an "eye candy" piece - it was one of a set of 9 on a switch - he was only able to get the one and did not know what has happened to the other 8!

That certainly is an odd piece!

I know! ANYONE who had a remote interest in porcelain was looking it over. Elton Gish (who writes the porcelain column for the Crown Jewels magazine) even got some pictures of it.

I would love to have seen a picture of that switch when it was in service.

I suppose such things go on in the UK, but I have never heard of it.

There are a few collectors in Europe and the UK, but collecting insulators has not become as commonplace as it has over here in North America.

I also like that blue JD multipart in back.

That's actually ONE piece of porcelain - all the blue J-D insulators were cast.
