Otter Tail Power - Nelson County, ND

Otter Tail Power - Nelson County, ND
A long-retired 41.6kV line that once served a Minuteman silo. Seems they're in absolutely no rush to wreck out the lines to the silo sites - some are still complete enough they just have to put the fuses back in the 41.6kV cutouts while others are down to just 2 KPF switches in a row.

Grand Forks AFB once had a good-sized fleet of Minuteman missiles. The majority were powered by cooperative lines, but about a dozen sites (mostly silos and one launch command facility) had no other lines nearby except for an OTP 41.6kV line, so the company was obviously asked to build branch lines to these sites. Each one ended in a 41.6kV/480V transformer bank (but one was remodeled into a 41.6/2.4kV step-down with a 480V transformer bank at the end).
