And here's the double-circuit segment running down where that low 69kV line used to be. That pole with the secondary is the remnant of that huge alley-arm structure (it was cut off just below where the alley-arm braces were - the top was not much higher than the bottom phases on the new towers).

One circuit has been pulled in and terminated, and just need to be clipped in. The second circuit JUST had its rubber chickens put up and pulling ropes deployed.

Those are some oddly proportioned monopoles of the insulators are for 115kV. Are they shorter than standard?

Oh definitely - the airport is less than 1/4 mile north from this line.
The ones in the flight path all have altitude lights installed and already operational.

This is helpful, I was just going to ask what that was they were setting up on those monopoles. Right through the neighborhood too..I'm sure some of those residents may not be too pleased by the sight of this line

That's the north side of the lower-class "North End" neighborhood on one side, and business / industrial and the state pen on the other (that quartzite house is the old deputy warden's house and now office space for part of the pen).

The bare lines, bare trees and bare blue light contrasting with the parked red make this composition buzz.
