I thought the arrangement of the lines here was interesting - obviously the 41.6kV line was extended later to create a loop in the system. The 12.5kV and 41.6kV lines take slightly different paths as the substation is approached. The present 12.5kV line coming in from the north and continuing into town was the original Northern Power & Light 22kV line.

Nice sub setup there. I always liked those old rural wood substations.

Not alone - seems they transferred the 22kV arm to the new 41.6kV poles to become a line that WAS 12.5kV open Y (but which looked like delta) until just a couple years ago when they changed it to 4-wire Y.

That's interesting. Did they actually take the old arms (with insulators and all) off of the old poles and just slap 'em on the new poles?

It kinda looks like it as that arm has angle-iron braces - something not normally used on MDU.
