Switching platform
These can be found by almost every switch across the old Dakota Public Service Co. system. The insulators were 2-part types that were likely salvaged from the old NP&L 24kV system.

So far it's just Dakota Public Service that did it. I've never found any on the other power systems (public or private) in these parts except for a steel grate one company now places - just for a good footing when working the switch lever). When these deteriorate to the point of being a nuisance, they are simply hauled off to the dump. In fact, the bottom runners on this one fell apart when I tipped it on the side for a better look at the insulators underneath (that's why they're all crooked - I tipped it back for a pic after my inspection).
