Southwest Ohio's picture of a big substation transformer cooled by a couple tiny fans ( www.ipernity.com/doc/331991/26385435 ) reminded me of this.

Those green lines? that's SPRINKLER HOSE!!! It probably was either too dicey or it didn't help much because it was gone the next time I ventured down.

That's just pitiful. But a muni who's in tough enough shape to do something like this should have a nice old distribution grid! Does Hawarden have a large 2.4kV grid?

Looks like the muni has since eliminated the 2400V system and moved all the upgraded distribution underground.
