This is the sole survivor of the 69kV line segment that was wrecked out in 2003 to make way for the present 115 / 34.5kV line. This is just north of where the line turned west at SD 42 (12th St. in town). This leg of the line carried a 13.8kV circuit but I cannot remember if it used the same large transmission braces or if it originally had the regular distribution braces.

The tap saddles visible were for a distribution-only pole that carried a 3-phase transformer bank (which had been idled by the time the 69kV line was wrecked out and the 13.8kV line redone to 34.5kV). In the background you can see a second distribution circuit - and which is another 13.8kV circuit that is now 34.5kV.
