When Koreans start a business, they have a unique ceremony for good luck. During the ceremony, the host sets the table with food, rice cakes, and the head of a pig. When people get together they bow to the pig and put money into the pig's mouth.
It is not a superstition, but a custom for good luck. There are special shops which sell pig's heads, and a smiling one is more expensive than a normal one. If Koreans see a pig in their dreams, they like to buy lottery tickets because it is believed that pigs bring good luck.
