Makmo

Makmo
This sixteenth century stupa at the Vat Visoun in Luang Prabang is commonly known as 'Makmo', which is Lao for 'watermelon'. Ransacked by the Chinese Haw near the end of the nineteenth century what remains of the hundreds of Buddha images once inside are now housed at the Royal Palace Museum.
