after leaving kununurra the next destination was halls creek to stop over for the night. got into a big storm with lots of rain and pretty dark clouds on the way and it was, like all this storms here, just amazing. except the bad feeling that i had behind the steering wheel - hardly couldn't see anything anymore, cause it got so dark although it was only early afternoon.

in halls creek it felt like coming to a hillbilly-place. special after we went to the campground out of town, recommended by the lonely planet - the old town, halls creek. the road to the old town was claused due the weather conditions - to wet. but didn't looked that bad and after we saw a car coming from the other directions and a chat to them, we decided to give it a try. the road was fine, only a little bumpy. the old town ship was not really fine - it looked like a place out of "chainsaw massaker" - desolate, run-down with a sign on the front saying "lodge for sale", cars without tires standing around, an ugly looking dog barking and at the moment, when we saw an old cemetry we decided to turn around and go back to one of the budget hostels in halls creek...
