Water of Nevis: centre

Water of Nevis: centre
(The text below is the same as the previous upload as this is part of a triptych from the same spot.)

I went for a wee donder last week, from the road-free Corrour railway station up on Rannoch Moor, along the Abhainn Rath river and down into Glen Nevis, traversing a fine 'mix' of marsh, bog and in-spate streams and rivers; lovely, if also damp, both above and below. (I put 'mix' in inverted commas since it was tricky to distinguish one type of saturated, squidgy area of supposed ground from another.)

A few days later, I went back to the Glen Nevis end and made a few images a mile or so short of the watershed, but where the Water of Nevis has already established itself as a river.

I love the patterns rivers make on a bleak landscape and the colours of what passes for spring here are wonderfully subdued. (Needless to say, perhaps, this looks better bigger!)

Musings on: leaving the camera in the bag
