This flag has a positive image in my mind for two reasons.
First, I tend to see it as a symbol of peace and cooperation across a continent torn to pieces in the first half of the last century by war.
Second, talking about today I see it (though I am not sure how right I am) as a symbol representing the injection of social rights and justice into the operation of global capitalism in Europe.
