Lilliput Land

Lilliput Land
This is a plaza built a few years ago, in front of the newly refurbished Town/City Hall in the middle of Brisbane city.

It was and continues to be the subject of much criticism, and rightly so, for its minimal shade in this hot subtropical climate.

It is paved in light gray paving and the reflected heat in the hot sun can be scorching. It appears the city fathers think it is just perfect.

The angular lines on the left are broad tiled steps to accommodate the slight slope. The low building in the middle is a 2 story cafe section with an open space top area for exhibitions and casual get togethers.

The low set building on the righ at the street leads to an underground bus station and bicycle hub.

I took this from the top of the town hall clock tower. Well, almost the top.

Haha ... to me, this is a nice pile of scrap and would be great for the kids as a skateboard park ... now that would be something, all covered with tons of graffiti ... LOL
