River Walkway

River Walkway
This is a bendy section where it has a remotely controlled motorised opening section to allow boats to get to the river.

The local council has promoted the construction of riverside walkways for years, and built many themselves.

This is just near the city centre, and either because there were cliffs along the waters edge, or because a disproportionately high number of lawyers lived here, they caved in to fighting to have the walkway on the edge of the riverbank where the private houses are, and built a floating walkway offshore.

It was hugely expensive and has high maintenance, and further along (shown in the next shot) is an opening section to allow the lawyers to take their motorboats out for a spin, a sight that I have never seen yet.

When the high speed ferries go past, the walkways rises and falls along its length, which some people simply cannot tolerate, but I actually enjoy.
