The Mother Road - 2

The Mother Road - 2
East of Barstow, in the deep desert, old Route 66 is suffering.

Asphalt does not endure long in the dryness and heat. Someone from Highway Maintenance has spent a lot of time patching cracks in 66. Perhaps with love.

Within the brand new Mojave Trails National Monument. Mojave Desert, California.

Bindubaba, Tim Hanko, James R. Page, Hans van Dongen and 2 other people have particularly liked this photo

Abig landscape indeed, but the road certainly looks very tired.

I like the old, patched, asphalt. To me it gives a real sense of the history of the road.
