Naumagia
I did this video in the "Retiro Park" in Madrid during a performance with lights, fireworks and music in this opportunity the "pasacalle" of the "Nocturnal Music of the Streets of Madrid" composed by Luigi Boccherini, official musician of the court of Philip V, King of Spain. You can see the exact place where it was performed by extending the Geotag.
Historically the "Naumachia" was a dramatic naval battle recreation created during the Roman Empire where they were represented at the Coliseum and theaters. Three hundred years ago and following this Roman heritage, our Baroque Madrid ancestors, put back in fashion this kind of entertainments in the same space where we can now enjoy: the Retiro Park pond.
Today named as "Naumagia" (Naumagic) this marvellous spectacle is included into the festivity program of Saint Isidro (which is the protector of the city) Written and directed by Santiago Ruiz, this multicolour performance is a multimedia spectacle with awesome and fascinating games of light, water, projections, beautiful music and, off course, fire.
