Yes. I did improve some of these photos. The processes of printing from negatives and then scanning the prints decreased the quality. Some of the prints were aging and changing color. I plan to try scanning the negatives and some 35mm color slides. I also have 8mm movies. Does anyone know how to copy 8mm movies to digital? :-) Max
Oui, il existe des scanners qui numérisent directement des diapositives ou des films. J'en possède un et le résultat est bon, cela dépend de la qualité du support.
ich war noch nie im iran....schön, diese für mich unbekannte welt ,dank deinen fotos sehen zu dürfen! kompliment für diese eindrücklichen fotos.....wann hast du die bilder geknippst? irgendwo hab ich was von 1957 gelesen.....sind das echt so alte aufnahmen? warst du damals dort? oder sind das neuere fotos, schwarz-weiss bearbeitet?

Look at my tag "From film": they are all negatives scanned directly. Any midde range (to top) quality scanner does it.
As for the 8 mm, there are good services which convert it. Here in Italy is a bit expensive but still reasonable.
Say you'd donate it to a library or to an institution, they would surely do it and maybe they can then give you a copy. Maybe some institute for Middle Eastern studies and languages would be willing to acquire those documents. If not, the conversion shouldn't be too expensive.
