During the Middle Ages the soap was a very expensive item, so that their use was limited. Only in the nineteenth century that spread the use of soap in Europe and then in the rest of the world.
Both soaps and detergents are based on the same basis, the difference is that soaps are made from nturales substances such as animal and vegetable fats, while detergents are made from synthetic materials. Soap is basically a salt derived from fat, which is soluble in water. Saponification is the reaction of an alkaline solution with animal and vegetable fats (tallow and oils)
Materials needed to make soap:
· Oil of any kind used cooking soybean, sunflower seed oil. and so on. We must pass through a sieve to remove fine impurities.
· A plastic container 25 liters.
· Wooden stick for stirring.
· Plastic molds.
· Water.
· Caustic Soda. (Sodium hydroxide).
· Salt common.
To scent the soap and add a personal touch you can add essential oils (natural quality), lemon juice, orange, aromatic herbal teas, Aloe pulp ..
For solid soap version you can add oatmeal, rose petals, lemon zest, fruit ....
Liquid soaps for use mint or strawberry shakes ... passed through a sieve ....
