My daughter calls her bike "Bee-beep". It's one of her favourite toys.

This photo was taken with my favourite toy, which I bought in a Summer Festival sale last Saturday. 50 year old Kodak Retina IIC surprised me with the quality of photos when I got my prints from the lab. So much that it took the place of my Nikon: now it's the first camera to go with me everyday :-).

The photo above was taken on a Kodak Farbwelt 100 colour film and scanned from a print. I tried to get it as close as possible to the image on the print (at least on my screen it looks so :-D).

I got two lenses with the camera: the Schneider-Kreuznach Retina-Xenon 50mm f/2 and the 35mm f/5.6 one. The 50mm one gives a really nice bokeh and crisp details. I have a few more nice photos taken with it, but I couldn't manage to scan them properly. I don't have yet any photo taken with the 35mm one, but I hope it performs like his bigger brother.

The best 20 euros I ever spent :-D

Lars Trebing has particularly liked this photo

Wow, great to see that this camera does indeed work so fine! I’ll have to get the lens of “my” Retina cleaned before carrying out more serious tests with it—right now it has quite much flare in high-contrast areas. For now I’m very happy with my new XA though. And I just put a film roll into my father’s Retinette …

Haha … Modular, what have you done to us? ;)
