The Tykocin Synagogue was built in 1642.
The synagogue was thoroughly restored in the late 1970s. You can see here the historic wall paintings, most of which are decorative texts of Hebrew prayers.

Wow, what an amazing piece of history! I like the combination o different sources of light - the candles echoing the sunlight, and perhaps a light leak to remind us of the magic of photography? Beautiful detail in the dark areas, too.

The light leak is actually from a chandelier above :) I like its efect very much - it kinda makes the picture complete :)
