The Tykocin Synagogue was built in 1642.
The synagogue was thoroughly restored in the late 1970s. You can see here the historic wall paintings, most of which are decorative texts of Hebrew prayers.

Yes, the light there was very dim. It was raining outside (from dark, heavy clouds), and chandeliers didn't help much. So I put my Yashica on a tripod, selected f8 and 1 sec and hoped for the best ;)
