Early November, 2016
Lacock Abbey. Before Covid, I spent a lot of time here, always finding opportunities for pictures, but I have not visited since 2019. In fact, I have since sold the camera and lens used to make this photograph, and a good many other pieces of kit as well. (Posted 31 October, 2023).
Nikon D700 and Nikkor 35-70mm f/2.8 AF lens.

The Fleece, Cirencester: 5th November, 2019
An outing. Almost the last normal thing we did together before the curse of covid descended.

February Fog
This is a new edit of a picture previously posted here. I've cropped out some of the foreground to accentuate the young cyclist taking a short cut across the park, and getting a bit bogged down for his pains. The mist was doing a good job of shrouding the trees but I've made it even denser by, inter alia, making the photograph more grainy. That also emphasises the presence of the cyclist a bit more. I must prefer it to the original edit, because I am posting it afresh. Editing is a whole sub-genre of photography, I find, and it has taken on more prominence for me since Covid changed my habits so profoundly.
I notice that the focal length of the lens gave a full-frame equivalent field of view of 60mm; and cropping it a bit more simply serves to confirm my preference for shooting moderate telephoto.
Nikon D40 + Nikkor 18-70mm f/3.5-4.5 AF DX lens.

Chiaroscuro
I used a Chinon 55mm f/1.4 on a Canon EOS 40D, and the light was inadequate. I've cropped the result and probably over-processed it as well.

The Aviatrix Who Fell Smiling To The Ground
Where Forecaster Mystere coat by Valstar in Trevira (1969) abruptly meets Coty Light and Lovely (1961). It isn't obvious from this clumsy double exposure, but the advertising of the 1960s was powerful and imaginative in contrast to the feeble diet provided now.
