Adaptation 


Germany has no real modern way to celebrate the successful end of your studies at university, so lately some universities started to copy American traditions. So people getting their diploma (or in future their master) can join an event wearing silly looking clothes and hats to get their deeds.
Personally I don't like it very much...

Es passt halt so gar nicht zu unserer Kultur, und ich finde "Halloween" ist genug Adaption... Ich habe mein Diplom im Weissen Saal des alten Schloss' in Stuttgart bekommen und das war auch ohne Hut nett... Abe rjeder wie er mag :-)

Genau, ich finde diese Art Feier passt nicht so recht rein. Ich mein, etwas festliches ist ja okay, ich hab mein Diplom auch damals zwischen Tür und Angel mit feuchtem Händedruck im Dekanat bekommen, dass ist sicher auch nicht schön. Aber einfach aus Mangel an Phantasie oder Anpassungszwang zu kopieren, finde ich einfach blöd.
