this is not a nun...this is the traditional black veil many old women used and still use to wear in many greek and cypriot villages...!

Thank you for clarifying that. This woman was resident at an old monastery site as an assistant to a priest at the furthest northern tip of Cyprus so I made that assumption.

when you say at the furthest northern tip of Cyprus,you mean in Ammohostos-Famagusta,the Karpas Peninsula in the occupied part of Cyprus or in the northern tip of the free Republic of Cyprus? Because I hardly believe that there is a monastery open in the occupied part..unless the photo is shot before the Turkish Invasion in Cyprus before 1974

Sorry for the delay in answering. This is in the northern part, but the only Christian centre that I found. Most villages had deserted churches.
