Little Boxes on the Hillside ... (270°)

Little Boxes on the Hillside ... (270°)
Californian Suburbia - Agoura Hills 1985 - Pentax ME with SMC 80-200, f/4,5

♪♫ Little Boxes - Pete Seeger ♪♫

Little boxes on the hillside,
Little boxes made of ticky tacky,
Little boxes on the hillside,
Little boxes all the same.
There's a green one and a pink one
And a blue one and a yellow one,
And they're all made out of ticky tacky
And they all look just the same.

And the people in the houses
All went to the university,
Where they were put in boxes
And they came out all the same,
And there's doctors and lawyers,
And business executives,
And they're all made out of ticky tacky
And they all look just the same.

And they all play on the golf course
And drink their martinis dry,
And they all have pretty children
And the children go to school,
And the children go to summer camp
And then to the university,
Where they are put in boxes
And they come out all the same.

And the boys go into business
And marry and raise a family
In boxes made of ticky tacky
And they all look just the same.
There's a green one and a pink one
And a blue one and a yellow one,
And they're all made out of ticky tacky
And they all look just the same.

On July 26, 1956, the House of Representatives voted 373 to 9 to cite Pete Seeger and seven others (including playwright Arthur Miller) for contempt, as they failed to cooperate with House Un-American Activities Committee (HUAC) in their attempts to investigate alleged subversives and communists. Pete Seeger testified before the HUAC in 1955.

Yep, that's what it was like, I was there in 1985 and remember it well .... I think it's worse now in some ways -- traffic, in particular. Never regretted moving to foggy San Francisco. Not that we don't have traffic issues as well.
LutzP has replied to Sarah Paris
When we moved to Agoura Hills in 1979 it was not even Agoura hills but only Agoura and still unincorporated. It had, however, a High School but was not part of the LA Unified School district and therefore no bussing. There was a lot of open space back then. In the early eighties it became quite fashionable and lots of homes were built on the hillsides ;-)

Last time I was there was in 98, our place still looked quite nice.

Moving to San Francisco was definitely a smart thing to do, LA is just horrible, not only because of the traffic
