Thanks for the heads up Sami, for some strange reason it has disappeared from the group. Others have commented already, that they have seen it as my first contributiuon. I've snug it in again (it's still before midnight in Hawai'i ;-)).

As to the pic: It's a RAW shot developed and edited in Lightroom, nothing else, no extra lighting except for the internal flash. Thanks again for your kind comment.

Which then means there's a great dynamic range on your camera, and I also probably should start to consider using RAW, at least on tough situations.

There is a big dynamic range on your cam as well, Sami. It's 8 Bit jpg vs 14 Bit RAW in terms of tonal values (256 vs 16.384), which means you have 64 times the tonal values which helps a lot especially in the dark areas. Start shooting in RAW, you will be amazed about the details recoverable in dark areas.

Thank s for encouragement, LutzP. So far I have sticked to JPEG because: I'm just an amateur, I don't have enough disk space for shooting RAW on daily bases, and I have no good software to work with RAW. But maybe all that will change some day... Winning in lottery is my best chance, because if I would get a job with higher salary, then I probably would also have even less time to photograph.

EDIT: Oh, I forgot I have LightZone on my desktop PC. That seem to work nicely with RAW.

Hi Sami, just one thing: I really regret, that I did not shoot RAW when I started digital. At least start shooting RAW, even if you dont process them now, in 3 years time you will be very grateful, that you have the raw images!

Thank you again Lutz. I will give it a try. I noticed I can set RAW mode for "normal camera modes" (M,S,S & P), but on iA mode keep on shooting JPEG. So, I can change between the modes quickly. So, now the only problem is disk space, and that is rather cheap these days.

Dieses Fenster gefällt mir sehr. Die Spiegelungen und die schöne Aussicht sind fantastisch.
Irgendwo habe ich auch einige vergessene Fotos aus Rothenburg.

Du meinst: Has Views been abandoned as well? Ja, hab ich gesehen. Mich wundert da nichts mehr. Wir haben uns rechtzeitig entschieden und haben jetzt ein Jahr Vorsprung ;-))
