Hamburg April 1950 after the Bombing Raids of WW2 (Western Part) (270°)

Hamburg April 1950 after the Bombing Raids of WW2 (Western Part) (270°)
Almost 5 years after the end of WW 2 most of the rubble has been cleared and the rebuilding has started, but 70% of the city is still in ruins. View at full size for lots of details. Photos taken by my dad.

Thanks pajmcb.

I was in a transit camp for almost three months in the spring of 1950 waiting for a posting. The commercial shopping area was almost complete then. Lots of Germans pulling small four wheels carts holding all sorts from Logs to shopping.

Thanks for your comment Owen, however I'm at a total loss as to what you are telling me. Which commercial shopping area? Small carts holdings Logs to shopping? Hmmm?

Actually I have been with my dad on this occasion and still remeber very well. Greetings Lutz
