sturdy arch with massive brickwork ... they don't build them like this any more.
This would have been 'value engineered' to remove its joy and grandeur these days. Sad if it is to be demolished. What a loss. It just needs a little TLC like we all do!

Yeah Dave, I just LOVE this old station, have an entire little set of it and will be adding more pictures, since the modernisation works have started and soon it will be gone (entirely until 2011) :(

Ich kenne die Pläne nicht bis in alle Einzelheiten, aber das Übersichtsbild suggerierte, dass das alles verschwindet und nur der denkmalgeschützte Wasserturm einsam und allein inmitten hypermoderner Bahnanlagen stehen bleiben wird. Ich hoffe, ich habe das Ding falsch interpretiert!
