totally agreed, Dave. This kind of decay is ever so beautiful, no doubt about it. I just love these ancient forests renewing itself in multiple layers.

We found the subject at the end of a 25 kms walk that turned out to be utterly challenging, especially for my daughter. As much as I'd love to go back, I fear we won't do it already knowing how rough that walk was.
