a Vasarely of nightly construction 


Berlin Friedrichstrasse, construction of the new Lecture Hall within the gigantic inner yard of State Library. The halfly finished concrete walls are creating a lovely pattern underneath the nightly illumination, which I saw from my office. It reminded me highly of Victor Vasarely :)

Ja, glaub's ruhig, Dirk! Das wird der neue Lesesaal der Deutschen Staatsbibliothek, die seitlich unter mir liegt wenn ich im Büro über den Dächern von Berlin bin, hihi. Da war vor 5 Tagen Richtfest mit allem was Rang und Namen im Bund und Berlin hat. Ist ein toller Effekt, gelle?!
